Video Games of 2012..
It's no wonder why video games are so popular nowadays. With the ability to do practically anything you can dream of in high-definition graphics, who wouldn't want to play? The more popular video game genres are first-person shooters, role-playing games, and sports games. Some are easy to jump in and play while others can take a lifetime to learn.
First-person shooters are personally my favorite type of video games to play. Not only are they easy to play, but there's always good competition waiting to beat you. Whether you sit in a tower and wait for unsuspecting prey, or maybe you're in it for the up-close, blood n' guts. Either way, some popular first-person shooter titles are: BioShock, Duke Nukem 3D, and Halo 3, to name just a few.
Role-playing games are quite the opposite of the previously mentioned genre. These, on the other hand, require large amounts of time to play because of the in-depth game play. Normally there is a set of given missions, quests, or levels the player(s) have to complete in order to advance further into the game. Role-playing games are also very customizable to suit the gamers playing styles, as these genres can take ages to complete. Here are some role-playing game titles: MegaMan, Super Mario Brothers, World of Warcraft, and Zelda.
Last, but not least, are sport video games. If you're young or old, chances are you have a sport you have either played or enjoyed watching. Lucky for us, there is practically any sport available in a video game. Although they can be tricky at first to learn, once you learn it you won't want to stop. Also, sport games are one of the only genres you can play and not be considered a nerd. Here's a few of the latest sport game releases: Madden Football 2010, NHL 2010, Olympic Gold 09, and Need for Speed.
The popularity and expansive selection of video games available grows daily. So, whether it's sniping at your enemies, completing quests with friends, or maybe a classic game of football, there's a game made for you. Just remember to space out your game play over time; otherwise you might turn into a hobbit.
